Composition
The Eau de Parfum draws its inspiration from the fragrance with which it shares its floral-aldehydic signature.
This floral bouquet, composed around rose and jasmine, is enlivened at the top by citrus notes. Aldehydes lend it a unique presence, and the soft touch of vanilla creates an infinitely sensual trail.

INSPIRATION
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel commissioned Ernest Beaux to create “a woman’s perfume that smells like a woman,” something rare and powerful. The Perfumer-Creator proposed a visionary composition that employed an unprecedented use of aldehydes. Mademoiselle chose version number 5 of the fragrance and decided to keep this number as its simple name. For this new perfume, she selected a striking bottle, adorned with a white label and topped with a faceted cap. In 1986, Jacques Polge, CHANEL’s Perfumer-Creator since 1978, reinterpreted his predecessor’s olfactory composition to create a more expansive version of N°5: the Eau de Parfum.
