The voluptuousness of Comorian ylang-ylang opens onto the harmonious and delicate facets of rose and jasmine. Aldehydes lend it a unique presence, and the soft touch of vanilla and musky notes creates an infinitely feminine trail.
INSPIRATION
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel commissioned Ernest Beaux to create “a woman’s perfume that smells like a woman,” something rare and powerful. The Perfumer-Creator proposed a visionary composition that employed aldehydes in an unprecedented way. Mademoiselle chose version number 5 of the fragrance and decided to keep this number as its name. In 2008, Jacques Polge, CHANEL’s Perfumer-Creator since 1978, reinterpreted his predecessor’s olfactory composition to create a luminous version of N°5: EAU PREMIÈRE.
